Talking about Blogging and WordPress.
Today I am releasing the new theme for the blog, since the old one was almost three years old and definitively needed to be changed.
It’s still under development, since it lacks some features I want to add, but at the moment I am quite satisfied with it bacause finally I managed to design a theme which covers the entire window.
I started from BlankSlate theme, your one-stop if you want to learn how WordPress works, and the responsivity is managed by Bootstrap.
It’s simply amazing the way you can handle various screen sizes using the grid system and display properties, you can easily build a responsive theme without writing a lot of media queries.
You just play with Bootstrap display classes, and that’s it, your site gets responsive in a matter of minutes, look at the video (or try to resize the site by yourself):
I am trying to focus on content as much as I can, now I need to add a robust search and pagination system, as well as integrate the newsletter and some more stuff, but I am pretty satisfied with it, although I am always open to feedback.
And of course I am sticking to my guns when I do not recommend to use premium WordPress themes for your blog.
