Phaser 2.4.5 released with more than 85 updates, waiting for Lazer

Talking about Phaser.

Today a new version of Phaser was released, so if you want to stay up to date you should work on Phaser 2.4.5.

Besides the new features and updates you can find in this release, what really excited me is to know Phaser is about to enter the long-term support stage of its life.

This means no more features will be added, and every update from now on will only fix bugs and glitches.

Although this may seem a bad news – what? no more features? – it’s easy to see what hides behind the long-term support of Phaser: Richard and his crew are speeding up the development of Phaser 3, which will be called Lazer.

Being 2.4.5 one of the last versions of Phaser, I am going to update all my games and most popular tutorials to Phaser 2.4.5, so I will be hopefully able to port them to Lazer with no (that much) pain.

Readers who alredy purchased Globez source code, From null to Full HTML5 cross platform game book and Create HTML5 vertical endless runner cross platform games book will receive the updates for free, so if you didn’t already get these items, it’s your turn.

The blog will obviously cover Lazer, I am sure soon we will say Lazer is the new Flash.
