Talking about Quick Switch game, Game development and HTML5.
I had a lot of positive feedback for my post about Totem Destroyer prototype built with GDevelop (quick reminder: GDevelop is a free, nocode, open source tool to develop cross platform games), so while I am building a complete Totem Destroyer game just to see how is the whole process of making a game with GDevelop, I found another old Flash glory which can be easily ported using this tool: Quick Switch.
I already built a Quick Switch prototype using AS3 + Box2D, Construct 2 and Stencyl.
Now look at the GDevelop version:
You have to make the ball reach the goal, the green flag, activating the platforms by hovering the mouse.
While I can’t publish a tutorial at the moment because I am still learning the basics, this is my event sheet, the most basic ever, I did not even change the name of the scene which is still called Untitled scene (shame on me).
As you can see, it’s all a matter of activating and deactivating physics behaviors. Although I am not a big fan of nocode tools, GDevelop could help me to bring old Flash Box2D games to a new life, so I will play a bit with it.
I will improve this prototype too, and eventually publish a full tutorial about building games wit GDevelop, meanwhile download the full project.
Never miss an update! Subscribe, and I will bother you by email only when a new game or full source code comes out.
